Livestock Production in 2012

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-02-28 11:37:58China Agriculture Report Print The National Bureau of Statistics has recently promulgated statistics of China’s livestock production in 2012.
 
Meat production registered 83.84 million MT, including 53.35 million MT pork, 6.62 million MT beef, 4.01 million MT mutton and 18.23 million MT poultry meat, up 5.4%, 5.6%, 2.3%, 2% and 6.7% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Egg and milk productions were 28.61 million MT and 37.44 million MT respectively, up 1.8% and 2.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Aquatic production was 59.06 million MT, including 43.05 million MT aquaculture production and 16.01 million MT catch, up 5.4%, 7% and 1.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Hog slaughter and year-end inventory recorded 696.28 million heads and 474.92 million heads respectively, up 5.2% and 1.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Corn production was 208.12 million MT, 8% more than the previous year.
