Single Month Export of Pesticide Hit a Record-high

In January, Chinese crude pesticide import was 8,283 tons, up 82.0% over last month, including wholesaled fungicide 2,499 tons, retailed herbicide 2,663 tons and wholesaled herbicide 1,044 tons respectively, the three varieties above accounted for 74.9% of total import, up 5% over last year. Retailed herbicide import went up by 2.2 times, with its proportion up from 21.83% to 32.20%.
 
In January, Chinese crude pesticide export hit 91,672 tons, up 28.7% over last year and 22.3% over last month, the highest record in a single month. The proportion of herbicide (including retailed and wholesaled) hit 74.5%, up 3.5% over last year, and the proportion of insecticide went down to 15.9% from 12.8%. Meanwhile, the proportion of wholesaled pesticide went down to 40.2% from 46.0%.
 
In January, FOB price of wholesaled insecticide, fungicide and herbicide was 4,824 dollars, 4,512 dollars and 3,014 dollars, a bit up over last month. The hike is good news to the revive of domestic market, and will lay a solid foundation for the hike of pesticide price in the spring of 2013.
