Growth of Dairy Market Depends on Product Innovation and Extension of Channels

The route for the growth of the dairy market in the past two decades is to raise the penetration rate of consumers and to attract more urban families to consume dairy products. Kantar Consumer Index latest study indicates the penetration rate of Yili and Mengniu among urban families is both close to 90%.The high penetration rate of dairy products among urban families means it shall be hard to realize growth by improving this rate. In the future, the growth of the dairy market shall rely more on: exploration of consumers’ new demand and product innovation. The channels should be extended and more effort should be devoted to the exploration of the rural market.
